Our Los Angeles IAHSP Chapter Staged a Shelter for
Abused Foster Children/Women in Hawthorne, CA

Our local Los Angeles IAHSP Chapter collected about $15,000 in donations of furniture, accessories, artwork, trees,
plants, paint, and labor to help stage this very needy Shelter.  Richstone helps take in and support abused teens and
women to give them a place to live, help them go to school, and coach them to become self sufficient in the real
world.  We had about 20 companies all participate, first by donating a lot of needed furniture and accessories.  We
then worked with sponsors to help donate labor, paint, hardware to help replace carpet, install ceiling fans, paint
many of the rooms, repair broken items, and clean.  The final task done on Saturday Sept 15, was for all the IAHSP
Staging companies to come together to perform the final transformation... basically a home make over !  Check out
the before and after photos shown below !

BEFORE                                        AFTER

This is the meeting room where the girls
have talks with the counselors in a group
session.  The old room on the left had
little seating and a lot of unused furniture.

We had the room painted and carpets
cleaned by our support vendors.  Then
we
brought in all the chairs, love seat, end
tables, plants and window treatments.

BEFORE                                        AFTER

What a diffence the new paint, artwork,
plants, window treatments and furniture
can make.  The room is much more
useful now and we suited to helping the
girls with their meetings and therapy.

BEFORE                                        AFTER

Here is the front Living Room.  We had
an accent wall painted, and then
changed some furniture, added artwork,
tree, pillows and rearranged the room.

BEFORE                                        AFTER

Here in the Dining Room, we had out
vendors paint the walls  and we added
tree, artwork, and a center piece.  We
also moved 2 chairs to the front of the
room to create a small bistro set.
In the Kitchen, we
had the walls painted,
added window
treatments, and then
staged with
accessories.

Before             After
This is the family room.... one of the
most rooms used in the house.  We
had the walls painted, ceiling cracks
repaired, new ceiling fan added,
replaced most of the furniture, and
then added trees, artwork, and
accessories.  We took it from bland
and boring to colorful and exciting!

see it once it was completed.
WOW !  They were all amaized at
how nice we were able to
transform the place. It feels a lot
more comfortable and appealing.
It's like a new home to them.
Here are the stagers in
